Make sure to cleanse your hair and scalp at least 24 hours before appointment. Come in knowing the products that you are using on your hair and scalp so I can better determine a plan for a healthy scalp. Try to dress comfortably.
For the best results allow your hair to grow to be about 1/4 inch approximately 2-3 weeks of growth. Gently exfoliate the area 24-48 hours before appointment, and arrive with clean, dry skin free of lotion, oils, or self-tanner if you can (for legs or back), Avoid retinoids, strong exfoliants, and excessive sun exposure on the treatment area for days before hand. Let your provider know of medications, or skin conditions that may affect skin sensitivity.
For the first 24 hours keep skin clean, avoid touching skin, no makeup, strenuous exercise, swimming, saunas, and excessive sweating. Use only gentle, hydrating products, recommended by your esthetician. Avoid retinoids, exfoliants, acids, or any other ingredients for 5-7 days or until skin is fully recovered, wearing a broad SPF 30+ or 50+ daily while avoiding direct sun light. There will be mild redness, skin tightening, dryness, and some flaking are normal for a few days, as your skin heals, contact provider if you experience severe pain, increasing redness, pus, fever, or any sign of infection.
